London - The architect and former president of the Royal Academy, Sir Hugh Casson, died on Sunday after a long illness

London - The architect and former president of the Royal Academy, Sir Hugh Casson, died on Sunday after a long illness. He was aged 89. Sir Hugh was president of the academy from 1976 to 1984, during which time many landmark exhibitions took place. He was a friend of Britain's royal family and has been described as the artistic mentor of the Prince of Wales.
