Rotich wins Paris marathon in record time

Kenyan Mike Rotich won the Paris marathon in a course record of two hours six minutes and 32 seconds today.

France's Benoit Zwierzchiewski, who won the race last year and held the previous course record of 2:08.18, finished second in 2:06.36. Wilson Onsare of Kenya was third, 10 seconds back.

Beatrice Omwanza of Kenya won the women's race in 2:27.41 outsprinting Rosaria Console of Italy. Banuela Mrashani of Tanzania was third.

More than 30,000 runners covered the 42.195 km in chilly and windy conditions.
