Ronaldo confirmed today that he will make his comeback for Inter Milan this Sunday - in a charity match against Nigerian champions Enyimba.
The 25-year-old Brazilian superstar has now completely recovered from the recurrence of a knee tendon injury, which has kept him out since last April.
As a United Nations (UN) 'Goodwill Ambassador' Ronaldo says he's more than happy to raise money for good causes, but says he's still apprehensive about playing competitively again.
"To play for childrens' benefit is something special, but it will also be a big test for me," Ronaldo said.
"I don't know how long I'll play for, but I'm hoping to approach it the same way when I play against Perugia (on August 26th in the Italian league's opening day).
"My recovery programme, and my injury, are both now over and I'm working on getting back to being 100 per cent fit in order to last the full 90 minutes."
Ronaldo said he was simply happy to be back among the team.
"I'm really happy at seeing the team again and I can already see myself at the forefront of the forward line."
All benefits for the charity match, which is being televised by both an Italian and Brazilian TV station, will go towards UN projects set up to fight against poverty in Africa, South America and Asia.
