BUCHAREST - Senior Romanian politicians and parliamentarians issued a series of last minute appeals yesterday to be granted early admission to NATO. Former prime minister Mr Petre Roman said Bucharest wanted to be among the first formerly communist states to be admitted into an expanded alliance.
