The unemployed and single parents are particularly vulnerable to rapidly rising rents, with many reduced to living in sub-standard accommodation, according to a new report. The report, commissioned by the Dublin Inner City Partnership and the Larkin Unemployed Centre, was carried out by Isis Research and Mr Robert Lynch.

It argues that public money spent on rent allowance would be better spent on housing schemes.
