Renewed appeal over Dublin abduction

Gardaí have again appealed for the public's assistance in helping to find a young man who was abducted last week.

Gardaí have again appealed for the public's assistance in helping to find a young man who was abducted last week.

Investigating officers have said they are “extremely concerned” for the welfare of Ciarán Noonan (29), who was abducted in East Wall last Thursday.

Ciarán Noonan, a father of one originally from Blanchardstown, has not been seen since he was chased, beaten and bundled into a black VW Golf car on Russell Avenue at about 4.45pm on that afternoon.

Gardaí would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a distinctive looking Black VW Golf with a spoiler on the rear, tinted windows, spoked wheels and the licence plate 05-D-88805, between the hours of 4.30 pm and 8pm on the evening of the abduction, when it was parked at an underground car park at the Killegland Apartment Complex in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

Superintendent Frank Clerkin, who is leading this investigation, said gardaí were anxious to establish where the car was that evening.

"We have serious concerns for Ciaran’s welfare and safety and along with his family are appealing for people to come forward and assist in this investigation,” he said.

Ciaran is described as being 5ft 8ins, of medium build with short dark brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing a light blue hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and "Converse” runners.

A woman who was arrested in connection with the investigation earlier this week has been released without charge.

Anyone who may have seen the car or its occupants, or anyone who may have information in relation to the abduction is urged to contact Store Street Garda station at 01-6668089 or 01-6668000. They can also contact the Garda confidential line at 1800-666111.
