Hanoi - Vietnam has freed from jail two prominent monks who belong to an outlawed Buddhist organisation in what appears to be a growing amnesty for some of the country's key political and religious opponents. The Paris-based International Buddhist Information Bureau said in a statement obtained by Reuters yesterday that monks Thich Quang Do and Thich Tue Sy had been freed, although it did not say when.
