Rehab protests at cap on prizes

The Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen, was presented with 300 sacks of used lottery tickets yesterday morning

The Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen, was presented with 300 sacks of used lottery tickets yesterday morning. The event was part of the Rehab Group's efforts to have the £10,000 cap on charity lotteries removed.

The used Rehab lottery tickets arrived at the Department of offices in St Stephen's in a two tonne truck, with the campaign slogan, "Scrap the Cap".

According to a spokesman for the Rehab Group, the campaign is in support of Fianna Fail private members' put before the Dail on Friday. The Bill, presented by Dr Michael Woods, would change the 1956 Gaming and Lotteries Act.
