Soho Stories (BBC Radio 4) To celebrate the opening of the new Soho Theatre and Writer's Centre a weeklong series of new short plays begins at 10 a.m. with Blah Blah Kid by Suzy Almond. Mr Muscle by Sue Townsend will be broadcast live from the theatre at 7.45 p.m. Thomas Davis Lectures (RTE Radio 1, 9 p.m.) A Man Before His Time, a celebration of the life of Sean O Faolain in the centenary year of his birth, by Prof Maurice Harmon.

In My Life (RTE Radio 1, 7.05 p.m.) Olivia O'Leary's guest on the last programme in the series is the Hon. Desmond Guinness who reflects on the role the Anglo-Irish have played in Irish society as well as his work for the Irish Georgian Society. The Health Report (RTE Radio 1, 3.30 p.m.) Teri Garvey examines the health benefits of craniosacral therapy and osteopathy. Thunderbirds Are Go! Sci-Fi On Strings (BBC Radio 2, 9 p.m.) Bob Monkhouse looks at the appeal of science fiction shows like Thunderbirds, Captan Scarlet and Stingray.

The Documentary on One: The Twelfth Apostle (RTE Radio 1, 7.05 p.m.) Martin Lavan is an old IRA man with a colourful past - he was one of Michael Collins's "Twelve Apostles" who shot the British spies known as the Cairo Gang on Bloody Sunday 1920.

Performance on 3: Piano 2000 (BBC Radio 3, 7.30 p.m.) The Bridgewater Hall's millennium festival, celebrating the role of piano in the world of music.
