Moscow - President Vladimir Putin will appoint a governor general for Chechnya in the coming days, the Kremlin chief's special envoy for the North Caucasus said yesterday. Mr Putin will take a decision "in two or three days" said Gen Viktor Kazantsev, one of seven "super prefects" appointed by the president to keep tabs on regional governors.
