London - A landlady and her husband have been charged with manslaughter after a drinker collapsed in the pub she was managing, police said yesterday.
Mr Barry Gates (44) collapsed in the Kingston Tavern in Buckland, Portsmouth, on June 7th.
He was taken to hospital but efforts to resuscitate him failed. A post-mortem showed he had died of natural causes. He is understood to have had a high level of alcohol in his blood.
Teresa and Kevin Browning were interviewed after the death and have been charged with manslaughter. Mr Browning and his wife are due to appear before Portsmouth Magistrates on August 11th.
