Two men were being questioned by detectives yesterday about the murder earlier this month of prison officer David Black (52) . The married father of two was gunned down as he was travelling to work on the MI motorway near Lurgan.
PSNI detectives arrested the two men, aged 42 and 34, in Coalisland, Co Tyrone. They were brought to Antrim police station for questioning.
The murder was admitted by a new dissident grouping comprising members of the Real IRA, Republican Action Against Drugs and previously unaligned republicans from Tyrone and Lurgan.
The arrests were made as dissident prisoners in Maghaberry aligned to the grouping ended a year-long dirty protest over conditions.
