A WOMAN has pleaded guilty to killing a man in Cork in 2007. His body was found in a slurry pit.
Amanda McNab (25), a British national with an address in Mullinagleamig, Kerry, was before court yesterday morning, charged with unlawfully killing Gary Bull on or about September 23rd, 2007, in Shanlaragh, Dunmanway.
Bull’s body was found in a slurry pit at a farm in Shanlaragh on October 10th, 2007.
When the charge was put to her, Ms McNab replied: “Guilty to manslaughter.”
This plea was accepted by the prosecution and her case was adjourned to Friday morning in Cork.
A postmortem by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margaret Bolster revealed that Bull had died from severe head injuries consistent with being struck with a blunt instrument.
A native of Hertfordshire, Bull had been living in a mobile home in Kilmichael, west Cork, between Dunmanway and Macroom.
He had come to live among the 200-strong new-age traveller community in the nearby Coole Mountain in about 2004.
