MO MOWLAM, who may be the next Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, was alarmed on Tuesday morning when a member of her staff rang to announce that she was obviously keeping very bad company.
The previous day, the Referendum Party published a list of the 93 MPs it would not be opposing in the general election on May 1st. Dr Mo was the only Labour Party frontbencher to feature in the so called white list. And there she was, despite never having expressed any great anti Europeanism, with the likes of looney lefties such as Denis Skinner and Tony Benn.
Maybe Sir James Goldsmith felt that immersion in Irish affairs would turn anyone off being pro Europe.
