A Northern Ireland prison officer's home was attacked with a petrol bomb in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, last night.

A Northern Ireland prison officer's home was attacked with a petrol bomb in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, last night.

The bomb caused damage to the officer's car, which was parked in the driveway of his home in the Ferndale area of the town.

There were no injuries in the attack, which happened shortly before 11 p.m.

A man in dark clothing and a baseball cap was seen running from the scene.
