London - The Sun newspaper last night said it was considering an appeal after being ordered to pay £165,000 damages to a priest and a school teacher.

Father Noel Barry (42) and Miss Annie Clinton (51) claimed the story about their friendship was defamatory because it implied they had had a sexual relationship. During evidence a former nun had claimed she lost her virginity to Father Barry, which the priest denied in court.
