London - A Catholic priest gave Diana, Princess of Wales, the last rites after her fatal car crash, it emerged yesterday. Father Yves Clochard-Bossuet told the Mirror he was at Diana's bedside in a Paris hospital at 4a.m.
"She was already dead. I prayed for her soul. I was alone with her for four hours. I could not believe I was in front of her.
"All I could think of was the sadness of this young woman dying when she had everything to live for. I prayed for her sons, William and Harry."
As the resident Catholic priest at the Pitie Salpetriere hospital, he had been summoned in the early hours of Sunday, August 31st.
