The price of a two-hour Dublin Corporation parking disc has been increased to £1.60. A spokeswoman said the increase was designed to address an anomaly whereby disc parking was cheaper than "pay and display" parking in certain cases. She said Dublin City Council had voted in favour of the increase last November.
Disc parking was "not designed for all-day commuter parking", she said, and was still up to 50 per cent cheaper than off-street car-parks.
