A postmortem on a woman who died at the weekend after being found unconscious in Dublin has proven inconclusive.

A postmortem on a woman who died at the weekend after being found unconscious in Dublin has proven inconclusive.

Mary O’Rourke (48) died in St James’s Hospital on Sunday. She was found unconscious in sheltered accommodation on James’s Street on Friday night.

The mother of five had suffered serious head injuries in a beating and gardaí suspect she was thrown down stairs.

Although Ms O’Rourke was assaulted, investigating officers do not believe it was necessarily her injuries that caused her death.
