Portuguese man charged with Limerick murder

A Portuguese man in his twenties has been charged with the murder of a young woman in a Limerick hotel on Saturday.

A Portuguese man in his twenties has been charged with the murder of a young woman in a Limerick hotel on Saturday.

Mr Paulo Nascimento, 26, from the Algarve, Portugal, but with an address in Limerick, was remanded in custody until Thursday.

He was arrested at the weekend.

Mr Nascimento was granted legal aid. Judge Tom O'Donnell also ordered that a forensic psychiatric examination should be carried out on him.

Ms Gráinne Dillon (24) from Cork city was found dead in the kitchen of Jury’s Hotel in Limerick, where she worked, at about 6 a.m. last Saturday morning. She had been shot several times with a shotgun.
