Police say death of Belfast man (21) is murder

Police are treating the death of a man (21) in west Belfast last night as murder.

Police are treating the death of a man (21) in west Belfast last night as murder.

The man died following a serious assault.in a flat in the Oak Villa area, near the Springfield Road, at about 7.15pm. One man was arrested.

It is not believed the death is connected to murder of Gerard Devlin in the Ballymurphy area of west Belfast on Friday.

Two men are still in custody yesterday in connection with the murder of the father-of-five in west Belfast on Friday night.

Mr Devlin (39) was beaten and stabbed by up to six attackers after they knocked on the door of his partner's home in Whitecliff Parade and asked for him. He was collecting his children for a weekend away.
