Tarragona - Spanish police have opened an investigation into the brutal mutilation of 15 dogs in northeastern Spain, the Tarragona animal protection agency said yesterday.

One of the agency's employees discovered the dogs on Saturday night. Some died, while the severely injured were put to sleep by the agency, after they were found with their front paws sawed off.
