Police in Co Antrim are investigating a sectarian attack on a Catholic family early this morning.

Just before 2 a.m. five men went into a house on Corkey Road, near the village of Loughgiel, but left a short time later. It is believed they were looking for someone who was not in the house at the time.

They then proceeded to smashing the front door and side window of a car parked outside with baseball bats.

"They then fired three shots towards the house including one through the rear window of the same car," a PSNI spokesman said.
