Johannesburg - South African police said yesterday they had arrested a brother and sister on suspicion of committing incest over 16 years and were searching farms near Johannesburg for remains of their children.

Police Insp Olga Marais said the couple's parents, aged 60 and 65, were charged on Thursday with aiding and abetting incest.

She said Ms Heibrecht Fedder (32), pregnant for the ninth time by her brother, had agreed to point out the grave of one of their children.

The brother, who has not been named, was due to appear in court in the farming district of Delmas, east of Johannesburg, yesterday on incest charges. His sister was charged on Thursday.
