FILM PRODUCER Albert R. Broccoli, responsible for a string of successful James Bond films, has died peacefully at his California home. He was aged 87.

Broccoli, nicknamed "Cubby", produced 17 Bond films including the latest, Goldeneye, and more than 30 films in Britain, including the children's classic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

A smiling, jovial O.J. Simpson has mingled with guests at a charity fundraiser for an anti violence group at his mansion, shrugging off the controversy surrounding the gala affair.

Feminist groups have criticised him for hosting the fundraiser.

They also criticised the group that will benefit from it, the Stop the Violence - Increase the Peace Foundation, which fights for the rights of battered women.

Robbie Williams is "disgusted with himself" for an outspoken attack on former Take That colleague Gary Barlow, he announced yesterday.

"I was very bitter at the time, but I have a lot of love for Gary," he said.

In an interview with Attitude magazine Robbie (22) had said Gary was top dog in the teen heart throb band even though he wore horrible clothes.
