Lewes - The family of murdered schoolgirl Sarah Payne faced further anguish last night after the trial of her alleged killer was dramatically halted. The first jury was discharged after a "procedural irregularity" was uncovered. The Paynes left Lewes Crown Court at lunchtime after hearing that the trial would have to be restarted.
