A dissident republican murder attempt on Ian Paisley jnr was foiled by the PSNI, according to the North Antrim Assembly member, writes Gerry Moriarty, Northern Editor.
Mr Paisley said he had been warned of a dissident republican plan to murder him but that this had been foiled by the police.
“I am more than happy with the police response,” he said. “A, they foiled it in that they got knowledge of it and, b, I am satisfied with how they have dealt with the situation.”
Mr Paisley said that the threat against him would not deter him from his political work.
