Over 80 workers are to lose their jobs in Co Donegal with the closure of a radiator manufacturing plant in Derrybeg.

German-owned Dia Norm announced last night the plant will close at the end of November with the loss of 87 jobs.

Mr Dinny McGinley TD (Fine Gael) described the news as "a bolt from the blue".

The closure comes just over a week after 70 were laid off at the Qualtrom Electronics plant and 30 at the Bio medical research factory, in the same estate. A further 30 temporarily lost their jobs at an electric fencing plant at Falcarragh.
