Striker Luciano Figueroa is at the centre of a dispute over his move to Birmingham City after Spanish club Osasuna claimed they signed him before the Premiership club.

Figueroa, who joined Birmingahm last month in a £2.5 million deal from Argentinian side Rosario Central, could be forced to leave St Andrews after FIFA became involved in the affair.

Figueroa was signed when Steve Bruce and his players were in Malaysia for the Asia Cup. But despite playing in a friendly against Mallorca, Figueroa was left out of the squad for the 1-0 home win over Tottenham on Saturday.

Osasuna now claim that Birmingham have offered to sell the player to them if they match the price paid to the Argentinian club rather than become involved in a battle with FIFA.
