A poll of over 1,000 households in south west Dublin, showed that more than half of those who reported crime to the Garda were unhappy with the response. And while more than three in four who did not report a crime said they had no confidence in the perpetrators being caught.
The survey also found that 93 per cent of those questioned were afraid to walk in the city centre at night. The survey was carried out by Fine Gael TD Mr Brian Hayes.
