One man was killed and four people were hospitalised following a two-car crash near Kilcock, Co Kildare, early yesterday.

One man was killed and four people were hospitalised following a two-car crash near Kilcock, Co Kildare, early yesterday.

The crash occurred at Kelleighter, Kilcock, at 2.30 a.m. The dead driver was aged 44 and his body was taken to Naas General Hospital. A male front-seat passenger was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, as were the occupants of the second car, a man and a woman.

A 13-year-old boy, who was in the rear seat of the dead man's vehicle, was admitted to Beaumont Hospital.

Elsewhere, the mother of a two-month-old baby girl who was killed in a two-car collision on the Enniskerry road, in Co Wicklow, on Saturday, died in hospital yesterday.
