A decision is due today on whether two English police officers from the Soham murder inquiry will be granted bail after being charged in connection with child pornography.
Det Constable Brian Stevens (41) has been charged with two counts of making indecent pictures of children and one of inciting the distribution of indecent images.
Police Constable Antony Goodridge (34) was charged with the same offences and a further count of possessing the material.
The pair were remanded in custody on Saturday by magistrates in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, after the prosecution lodged an appeal against a decision by the bench to grant them unconditional bail.
If they are given bail they would next appear before magistrates at Bury St Edmunds on November 11th.
Both officers, who have been suspended from duty, were arrested early on Thursday by detectives from West Midlands Police as part of a worldwide inquiry led by the FBI in the United States.
Det Con Stevens worked as a liaison officer with the family of Jessica Chapman after the youngster and her friend Holly Wells vanished from their home in Soham, Cambridgeshire, on August 4th.
Police said the allegations are in no way linked to the murder investigation.
