Aer Rianta has lodged an official complaint with the Advertising Standards Authority concerning a Ryanair newspaper advertisement. The full-page advertisement published last Wednesday gave a list of air fares to various destinations under the heading "Ryanair" and another list of fares under the heading "Aer Rianta". The Aer Rianta fares were between eight and 10 times higher. Aer Rianta is claiming that the advertisement gave "false and misleading information". The advertisement gave the impression that Aer Rianta was an airline charging very high fares, according to the company, while in fact it runs airports and does not charge fares to any destination.
