Kilkenny 2-16 2-19 Tipperary
Ger O'Grady inspired Tipperary to a three point league win over bitter rivals Kilkenny at Nowlan Park today.
The full forward contributed 1-6 towards Tipp's total - goaling at a vital stage in the second half.
DJ Carey put Kilkenny on the front foot early on with a goal in the 14th minute but Mark O'Leary found the net late in the half to haul the visitors back on track.
The sides were level at the break but by the time O'Grady kicked a goal midway through the second half, Tipperary were seven points to the good.
Super sub Charlie Carter netted in the dying minutes to give Kilkenny a squeak but a gallant Tipperary held on for a memorable victory.
