Less than 1 per cent of the funding for the prisons and justice administration goes towards compensation for victims of crime, according to the Fianna Fail law reform spokesman, Mr Willie O'Dea.
Mr O'Dea called on the Government to abandon the "notion of a charter for victims" and restore compensation funds.
