The Fianna Fail spokesman on prisoners, Mr Eamon O Cuiv, is to visit 24 political prisoners in British jails this week. He has called for an immediate review of the Transfer of Sentenced Persons Act to ensure that more prisoners are transferred.
"It is vitally important that this group of people, who played a pivotal role in bringing about a ceasefire in the first instance and maintaining it for so long, are spoken to and their views ascertained as to how to bring about a new ceasefire and revitalise the peace process", he said.
