Apart from taunting between rival fans, the soccer match between Cliftonville and Glentoran passed without incident on Saturday.

Following trouble on Wednesday night, when Cliftonville fans were prevented from attending a game in east Belfast, there were fears that Saturday's game at Cliftonville's home ground, Solitude, in north Belfast, might spark clashes between the opposing nationalist and loyalist fans.
