No decision was made to reduce the drink-drive alcohol level when the EU transport ministers met in Luxembourg yesterday. The matter of getting uniformity in drink-drive limits was raised by the EU Transport Commissioner, Mr Neil Kinnock, near the end of the meeting, but there was not sufficient time to give the matter full discussion and it was decided to adjourn the matter until the December meeting.
Mr Kinnock said there had been a lot of pressure for anti-drink rules after Princess Diana's death and its apparent link to excessive drinking.
