Lagos - Nigerian presidency officials said yesterday heightened security at the presidential villa was normal and dismissed fears there may have been a coup attempt.
Cars going into the presidential villa since Tuesday have been subjected to unusually rigorous searches with members of President Olusegun Obasanjo's guard positioned at strategic points.
