A Northern Ireland pharmaceutical company is to invest £50 million in a new US headquarters in Pennsylvania.

A Northern Ireland pharmaceutical company is to invest £50 million in a new US headquarters in Pennsylvania.

Almac, which is based at Craigavon, will create at least 262 jobs, including software development and laboratory specialists, within three years through expanding its US base.

Initially, the company will build a 240,000-square-foot building in Lower Salford Township and combine its two Pennsylvania divisions in Audubon, Montgomery County, and Yardley, Bucks County.

Construction is scheduled to begin next year with the facility expected to be fully operational in 2010.
