The Minister of State at the Department of Public Enterprise, Mr Joe Jacob, yesterday laid the foundation stone for a new £20 million air traffic control and training centre for the Irish Aviation Authority at Shannon.

Equipping of the centre will form part of a major investment programme in which the authority's air traffic control systems at Cork, Dublin and Shannon will be replaced at a cost of £50 million, the Minister said.
