A CD and cassette of recordings made over 40 years by the late piper Seamus Ennis, was launched at the GPO in Dublin last night. The Return from Fingal, named after Mr Ennis's birthplace in north Co Dublin, was launched by the director general of RTE, Mr Bob Collins. The original recordings were made by Radio Eireann, and later RTE, and have been released on the RTE label.
Last night's edition of the RTE Sounds Traditional programme was broadcast live from the GPO - the first time in over two decades that RTE radio has broadcast from the building, where its studios were based for more than 50 years.
