New prison visiting arrangements, including a facility to book visits online, have been introduced at Northern Ireland's high security prison at Magilligan, Co Derry in an attempt to improve services to both prisoners and visitors. There will also be a new visitor and prisoner identification scheme.
Magilligan's governor, Mr Max Murray, said the arrangements would help stream line the visiting process. "Taken together, the new measures can help us to speed up the passage of visitors through the reception, enhance security and provide a safer environment for all concerned," he said.
