Rabat - Morocco's King Mohammed married on Friday, the same day his father died, in line with the north African country's royal tradition, a palace source said yesterday.

"According to Moroccan tradition, the crown prince must be married so that he can ascend the throne," the source said. He declined to name the bride, but said the wedding ceremony was held after Mohammed's enthronement and within hours of King Hassan's death.
