A committee has been set up by the Minister for Education to tackle educational disadvantage.
The Educational Disadvantage Committee will advise Dr Woods on "policies and strategies" aimed at eliminating educational disadvantage.
Prof Aine Hyland, vice-president of UCC and chairwoman of the Points Commission, will chair the committee.
