A college which claims to be the State's first online higher-level education institution has started operating in Dublin.
Hibernia College will provide courses online for students and a platform for other educational institutions to offer their courses online.
It will provide nationally accredited certificate, diploma, degree and masters' programmes to people seeking a third-level qualification.
Targeted at Irish and international students, Hibernia's courses will be delivered via the Internet and available 24 hours a day.
