A journalist who still carries, a bullet in his spine after being shot has said he was shocked by the death of Veronica Guerin.

Former northern Editor of the Sunday World, Mr Jim Campbell, was shot by a UVF gunman in May, 1984. He was attacked because of articles he wrote detailing the activities of loyalist terrorists.

In 1993, loyalists left a bomb at the newspaper's officers in Imperial Buildings. Staff managed to step over the device to safety outside.

"I was shocked by what happened to Veronica Guerin, but not surprised," he said.
