Murder accused dies in hospital

A man charged with the murder of his brother and whose trial was scheduled to begin within weeks has died

A man charged with the murder of his brother and whose trial was scheduled to begin within weeks has died. Mr Sean Daly (75), of Doneen, Kilcummin, died in Tralee General Hospital on Tuesday night.

He was accused of murdering his brother, Patrick, in January 1996. The body of Patrick (69) was found at the bottom of a 20 foot well by gardai. He had been brutally beaten.

Mr Sean Daly's trial was scheduled to begin in the Central Criminal Court in Dublin on June 21st.
