The 53-year-old mother-of-two from Newgate Street Village, Cuffley, Hertfordshire, was the first victim to be formally named by police.

An inquest into her death was opened at St Pancras Coroner's Court in London by Dr Andrew Reid and promptly adjourned.

Gladys Wundowa
University College, London, announced that Ms Wundowa, a 51-year-old cleaner, died in the bus bombing in Tavistock Square.

The 28-year-old from west London rang his bosses at JP Morgan to say he was being evacuated from Euston station and would be taking the bus.

The 37-year-old vanished after the evacuation from Euston station and decided to catch a bus to her job as a computer analyst.

The 55-year-old from Luton, has been missing since the explosions. She caught her usual train into King's Cross on her way to Hounslow where she is a social worker - and would have taken a Piccadilly Line Tube to get there.

The 47-year-old biomedical officer at Great Ormond Street Hospital has not been seen since leaving her Finchley home at 8am to begin work an hour later.

The 34-year-old accountant for the London Fire Brigade had reportedly not been seen since leaving his home in Romford for work. "We think he was on the Circle Line when the Aldgate bomb went off," friend Helen Lasky said.

The 26-year-old oil executive from Nigeria is believed to have boarded a bus after his Tube station was closed and he stopped to help passengers caught up in the confusion. His mobile phone records show that he contacted his employer, oil group Amec, at 9.41am on the morning of the terrorist attacks and it is feared that he then caught the No 30 bus.

Friends have taken photographs of the missing 28-year-old to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel in a bid to track him down. Mr Mayes, who works as an analyst for the Healthcare Commission, is believed to have travelled through King's Cross station on his way to a seminar.

The 30-year-old has not been seen by her parents since she left the home they share in Kensal Rise on Thursday morning to go to work. Her mother thinks she may have got on the no 30 bus to take her to work at the Royal Mail offices in Alder Street.

Friends of the 28-year-old fear she may have been caught up in the carnage as she was believed to have been travelling on the Piccadilly line and has not been in contact with her family in Annan in the Scottish Borders since Thursday. Ms Jones is an accountant with Senior Equity Partners in central London.

The 42-year-old from Poland went missing as she travelled from her home in Wood Green, north London, to a cleaning job in Hammersmith, west London.

Her fiance has not heard from the Italian since receiving a text message at 7am on Thursday morning. The 30-year-old business analyst, from Norwich, caught the 6.20am train to Liverpool Street, which arrived at 8.40am.

The Israeli was on the bus to work talking to her boyfriend over the phone when he heard the blast followed by screams before the line went dead. Boyfriend John Falding said: The irony of all these terrible things is that she was afraid of going back to Israel because she was scared of suicide bombings on buses."

The family of the father-of-two from Derby fear he was caught in the blasts. Brother-in-law Dave Wall said: "There is nothing we can do but wait. We've rung round all the hospitals twice. We have spoken to the police but there's nothing they can tell us."

The family of missing 55-year-old British Telecom worker from Hornchurch, Essex, made an urgent plea for any information about his whereabouts. They believe he may have been in the Aldgate area when he went missing.

The mother of the 24-year-old last saw her at Liverpool Street station as the pair travelled from their Billericay home, in Essex, together. June Taylor said: "We have a little farewell ritual. Carrie gives me a kiss goodbye."
