One of the most exclusive and unique all-male gatherings for some years took place in the office of the Attorney General in Government Buildings two weeks ago. The current AG, Michael McDowell, hosted a dinner for all his predecessors. All but two of those still living turned up: David Byrne, Dermot Gleeson, Eoghan Fitzsimons, Harry Whelehan, John Murray, John Rodgers, Peter Sutherland, Paddy Connolly and Tony Hederman. Declan Costello and Colm Condon couldn't make it.
It was by all accounts a very lively evening and has possibly set a precedent.
